<nowiki>*</nowiki> arbiters/keepers = guys you nod or bow to to pass by sections (prevents late joiners)
'''They try their best sometimes, but they are also leading the group, so questions are a distraction.'''

<nowiki>*</nowiki> maze part = part in the middle where there's a maze, wandering here = death
'''Ask someone you know who is in the run via tells for a quick response.'''

<nowiki>*</nowiki> pheal = party heal, default action most of the time
'''If you don't thiink they know the right answer, you can always note the leader after the run.'''

<nowiki>*</nowiki> cheal = incomplete heal, you'll be directed to do this as needed
<nowiki>*</nowiki> waves = at certain hp %'s Asvarien will call waves of mobs, these wreak havoc  on downhealers and tanks. To prevent them from overwhelming the party,  Asvarien will be resanced to slow down his droprate, and allow off-tanks to  clear the waves one by one.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> term = If you're lucky enough to have a paladin in the group, terminate is your  friend.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> autoattack = regular melee attack, usually you'll not be using attack spells but  instead will be doing pheal. NOT autoassist, it's generally best to engage manually.  Rules:  ********* Rule 1: Pay attention and do as you're told. *********
<nowiki>*</nowiki> There's an implied truce during epic runs, don't pk people.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> Don't spam commands, ever. You NEED to be able to react to changes  and spamming can cause problems. If you are phealing 5 rounds after  combat ends Androg will skullfuck you.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> Don't spam gtell with stuff ESPECIALLY automessages and stuff  there's a lot going on so gtell needs to be mostly business.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> Triggers off. Except utility stuff like potion tracking etc.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> NO BOTTING, shouldn't need to be reiterated but there you go.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> If you're confused, ask what you need to be doing.  When in doubt stand there without attacking and pheal
<nowiki>*</nowiki> If you're told to use flee, don't use retreat
<nowiki>*</nowiki> There's one part where you don't want to area attack, make sure you don't.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> If you're a t9 rescuer, rescue the tank once and once only, over rescuing  causes problems. If you don't rescue at all see deadweight above.  Starting the run:
<nowiki>*</nowiki> Take a deep breath, everything will be ok. Just don't panic and all will be well.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> A group leader will be designated, head to OC (usually the center) and follow  the group leader.
<nowiki>*</nowiki> From here on in just follow instructions and try not to earn any DS points.
Good luck and hope for rank items!

Each epic is different, but general rules apply to every single one

  • You will die. A lot. Don't talk about it. Don't whine or complain. No one wants to hear it.
  • When you die, go back to the area immediately. Don't sit around healing in your manor or clanhall, if you're not ready for a "join late" or "last call" of some sort, you WILL BE LEFT BEHIND. Heal once you're back in the area but don't spam yourself out.
  • If you die right before we finish and we call for "everyone here" at that point, please let us know you're on the way. A quick "BRT" before you start the speedwalk to oc/icefall/inferno/etc is great because then we know you're active at the keys and otw.
  • Check the following settings (basic raid/epic settings)
  • Autoloot is on
  • Autosac is off
  • Wimpy is zero
  • Battlespam off
  • Groupspam off
  • Nospam on
  • Go Neutral (unless ppal)
  • Turn off all reminders/repop/gquest/etc notifiers that go to gtell
  • Minimize spam, turn off unnecessary channels etc.
  • Damage 2 or 6 is good for minimizing attack spam
  • Stock up on mana potions, heal pots, extreme pills (Icefall), banish/disen staves (winds)
  • Bring a shield, any shield will do, you may not need it but it's good to have.
  • Do not follow self, you should be following the leader the entire time
  • Do keep chatter on gt TO A MINIMUM. Epic group is not actually a social hour as many might think.

If you have a question that's fine, but please do not expect the epic leader to answer questions during a run.

They try their best sometimes, but they are also leading the group, so questions are a distraction.

Ask someone you know who is in the run via tells for a quick response.

If you don't thiink they know the right answer, you can always note the leader after the run.
